Aquitaine Garden Sundial

A Bead of Light Tells Natural Time

Aquitaine Garden Sundial

The Aquitaine Garden Sundial is a unique instrument that gives you the current time by casting a bead of light rather than a shadow. The sundial takes its name from Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of England. Eleanor had a portable sundial made for King Henry II who used it to keep track of their love trysts.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Hang the sundial from the chain to have the maximum exposure to sunlight.
2) Position the sundial to allow sunlight to shine through the hole on the outer ring.
3) The bead of light that is cast on the inner ring indicates the hour and the season.

Each sundial comes with a card; you can download a PDF version of the card.
